THE PROJECT
A brand new website to showcase the services PaintNation offers and to show off their work.
This was PaintNation’s first website, and Mike had a huge influence during the project. Mike wanted the website to have a professional but friendly appearance. We feel like we nailed it!
STRATEGY
Understanding the challenges to create a push forward plan
Understanding everything Mike wanted. Mike was certain he didn’t want his site to look similar to competitors. As with every project Macbeth Designs starts, we dived into PaintNation’s services and reviews and created a design that we believed focused on Mike’s ideas.
Tasks:
- Identify key blockers, ensure the layout and UX were easy to use.
- Showcase the brand identity through a design made for PaintNation and include their colours throughout the site to maintain brand consistency.
- Integrate a more efficient way for customers to find the right service or product.
FUNCTIONALITY & UX
With our key objectives and strategy laid out, we initially focused on how the functionality would work in a users point of view.
- Selecting the right navigation helped to form the foundation for the customer experience. For PaintNation we kept the classic top menu with dropdowns for ease of access for each service. This helps to reduce clicks
- We incorporated a more inviting homepage, featuring a hero image with call to action wording. This helps to improve engagement and usability.
RESULTS
Transferring a concept to design, built into a high performance custom WordPress theme.
After the first design was created on a development domain, we showed Mike the website in it’s basic form and he came back with some tweaks of how he would like it to change. We worked on the design a bit further and started to add the content!
Mike had a great selection of images and let us know from the get-go what services he wanted to display on his website. This helped us to create some amazing content for Mike’s site. Once the content was added and images. Mike was shown the website again and we went live!
Search Engine Optimisation
A few months after Mike’s sent live he contacted us asking to us to help get his website on Google. He added his details to directories such as Yell but this wasn’t working as he expected.
We sat down with Mike to understand more about his services and goals!
We started off with a competitor analysis to find his major competitors, conducted a keyword research and started to work on his content to include more keywords, and better titles and descriptions of each page.
Search Engine Optimisation Results
The all important results! We have been working on PaintNation’s SEO for 3 months as of writing this case study and we have seen an amazing increase in organic traffic and keyword growth. See their results below:
